Nepal, Bhutan and Thailand...the last of the pictures....

I feel like I posted a lot of pictures on Nepal....but I will post a few more pics just to cover all of the bases.

Hiking in Nepal- playing ball with a few of the kids.
Not all of the hike was breath-taking...this is a photo from our first day- but most of it was pretty amazing.
The coat I rented was Dolce & Gabbana....okay- well the tag said it was....classy- even while hiking in the Himalayas....
Beautiful Nepal....

Beautiful Nepal babies.....
Relaxing after our hike in Kathmandu with our friends Mel and John.

BHUTAN
Arriving in Bhutan- home of the shortest runway on earth. Thankfully, we did not know this until after we landed.
Touring one of the dzongs in Bhutan with our guide.
The people of Bhutan are beautiful and SO happy!!
Bhutanese playing the national game of archery- it was pretty amazing to watch. They shoot the arrow from 150 feet away!
How funny is it that someone painted their dog?!
Hiking to the Tigers Nest- a monastery built into the side of a mountain. The hike was hard- but worth it!
At the bottom of the hike....
Looking across to our final destination of Tigers Nest.
More people of Bhutan.
Typical house in Bhutan- those are chilies drying out in front of the house (the red).
The scariest bridge to cross.....
Bhutan is just so cute! They are more concerned with happiness than product...imagine that?!
The Eastern Himalayas in the background....
As we mentioned we were definitely some of the youngest travellers in Bhutan....this was a typical tour group. My apologies if this is your family- we don't know them.
Eating corn on the side of the street...I wonder why I had stomach issues?
Another dzong....
More beautiful people.....
Monks studying under a tree.
The final breakfast with our guide and driver.
Flying business class- finally leaving for Thailand! We were both SO excited!!

THAILAND
Meeting Marissa in Thailand and touring some of the temples- unfortunately we didn't have our legs and shoulders covered- hence some borrowed clothes.
The BIG Buddha....
Eating Pad Thai on Ko Shan Road- a great memory from our last visit to Thailand that we were able to repeat.
The first place we stayed in Thailand was SO AWFUL! As you can see there is not even a full ceiling...I was more panicked than Ang and Marissa.
We spent a lot of time relaxing on our deck- once we made it to our place on the beach.
Enjoying the Thailand beaches.
Limbo and Jump-roping on the beach...what more could you ask for?
The weather looked like this for the first week- the sun would come out...but the clouds were ominous.
Enjoying a swim on a day-trip we went on...the water was beautiful!
I'm floating on water!!
WHY are these people so close to the monkeys?! Believe me- we are using serious zoom on our camera. Hello! Rabies!!
Pineapple on the beach.....
Corn on the beach.....
Hiking to the next beach over from where we were staying.
We have this exact same picture from 2005- a trip down memory lane.
Letting a candle float into the air for 'good luck' on one of our last nights in Thailand....
Manicures on the beach.
Our last night in Thailand.....a beautiful sunset and excited to be heading home after 3 months!!

Pushkar through Dharamshala.....

Pushkar was where Ang and I were sick....we both really wanted to have a TV in our room and to  just spend some time getting healthy. The room we checked into didn't have a TV - however, after several requests they were quick to bring in this little ditty and hook it up. We watched more "Simpson's" and 'How I met your Mother"....then I will ever in my life...
When we checked into our hotel in Jaipur- there was a huge hole in the bathroom- see above. I was insistent that a rat could get through the hole and thought maybe they could at least tape it. I realized when the hotel-guy came up with a roll of scotch tape that there was some serious lost-in-translation. Oh India.
Just another example of safety....
Pictures of the Taj Mahal.
My holiday card that never got printed or sent....
Ang touching the top of the Taj Mahal.

Life on the river in Varanasi....

Boarding the plane to Amritsar- I think this is the 16th guy to check my ticket. By the time you get to the plane- at least that many people have checked your ticket and passport...so, is it really necessary to check it again?
Golden Temple in Amritsar.
Golden Temple- people eating for free in the temple...a very cool scene to experience.
We toured a temple that was like a fun-house. There were mirrors, candy being given away....but the WORST part was that you had to wade through water at one point! AHHHH! I nearly died....this is me about to step into the weird water to continue through the temple.
A woman doing prostrations in a temple in Dharmasala- they do this for hours as a form of worship- looks like  a great workout!
Rocks around Dharmasala....very colorful!
Dharamshala has many Tibetan people living there after leaving China- it is a very cool culture.
Our last night in Dharamshala- our electricity went out ( this was not a big surprise)- so we entertained ourselves by making animals on the wall in the shadows....What WAS a big surprise is when our electricity flicked on and then off again- our TV blew up in our room. There was smoke and we had to call the owner to come and take a look.
